Build Pipeline

WhatIF has two build pipelines, one for the web application and one for the API. Each produces a ZIP artifact consumed by the release pipeline.

Web application build​

Technology: Angular, Node.js

Web application build pipeline

  1. Install the Node.js version specified in the pipeline YAML.
  2. Restore npm dependencies.
  3. Compile the Angular application.
  4. Generate build output files.
  5. Package the output into a ZIP artifact.

API build​

Technology: .NET 10

API build pipeline

  1. Set up the .NET 10 build environment.
  2. Restore NuGet packages.
  3. Build the API solution.
  4. Generate build output files.
  5. Package the output into a ZIP artifact.

Exporting a build pipeline​

The YAML configuration is embedded in the export and does not require reconfiguration on import.

In Azure DevOps, navigate to Pipelines, select the pipeline, click Export on the right side of the page, and save the exported JSON file.
