Pipeline Variables

Each release pipeline - web application and API - has its own set of variables that control how the deployment is configured for a given environment. Variables are embedded in the pipeline definition and carried automatically on export and import, so each environment uses the same pipeline structure with environment-specific values substituted at deploy time.

Sensitive values such as connection strings and service principal credentials should be stored in variable groups rather than embedded directly in the pipeline definition. Variable groups are not included in pipeline exports and must be configured independently in each target environment.
